Résumé

In the Brazilian Amazon—one of the world's most vital ecosystems, regulating climate and sustaining unparalleled biodiversity—communities are redefining development by turning forest conservation into economic opportunity. This film follows an initiative near Belém that promotes sustainable livelihoods by transforming native resources such as murumuru and tucumã into high-value ingredients for global value chains[FM1.1]. At its core is the cooperative CAMTAUÁ, which demonstrates how local processing and entrepreneurship can increase income while preserving the forest. Supported by partners including Symrise and regional organizations, the programme empowers women and youth, strengthens community resilience, and fosters inclusive growth. By linking local innovation with global markets, the film reveals a model where environmental protection and economic progress go hand in hand—showing how forest communities can shape a more sustainable and equitable future.
